Carousel sessions: Participants split into two groups on the first two days and then perfom. These are active learning events featuring learning and performances of a specially arranged piece of music for both instrumentalists and singers. Topics for this course: Funk band playing "Pass the peas", session band and pop-up choir.
Tutors in Focus sessions: You choose options and study musical topics in-depth: Topics include: Oldies but Goodies - Trad Jazz and beyond, songwriting, up-tempo playing, meet the accompanist, Bessie Smith - tragedy and genius, the life and times of John Coltrane.
Practice rooms: These are available to use all day.
Evening jam sessions: These are led by a guest tutor and are structured to give opportunities for many to join in.
Pre-course social Monday 5th April: Access to residential accomodation is available from late afternoon on Monday 5th April with a meal at 17.00 followed by an informal social event and quiz in the Hi-Hat. A charity collection will take place during the quiz.
